Tribal Food Producer Information Session: Tracking expenses and sales – June 11, 2025

This virtual Tribal Producers meeting was hosted on June 11, 2025 and focused on sharing a resource for producers to track expenses and sales.  In the meeting, Jen Falck guided meeting attendees through this expense and sales tracking sheet which is available for copy or download, allowing producers to use the spreadsheet within their own farm business.

These quarterly sessions, hosted by partners in the Great Lakes Midwest Regional Food Business Center including Jen Falck (Oneida Nation) Menominee Tribe’s Department of Agriculture and Food Systems, Marc Grignon (Menominee Nation) Menominee Tribe’s Department of Agriculture and Food Systems, Dan Cornelius (Oneida Nation) University of Wisconsin Law School’s Great Lakes Indigenous Law Center, Jamie Rahrig, Julie Jesmer, Bekah Galang, and John McCarthy, all of the MSU Center for Regional Food Systems, along with invited guest speakers, are for co-learning and connecting on topics including taxes, business development, financial readiness, and funding for Tribal producers.

The Great Lakes Midwest Regional Food Business Center is dedicated to offering coordination, technical assistance, and capacity building opportunities for farmers, producers, and other food business owners, in support of a more resilient and competitive food system. 

Michigan State University Center for Regional Food Systems (MI) coordinates the Great Lakes Midwest Regional Food Business Center that is comprised of network coordinators – Chicago Food Policy Action Council (IL), Northwest Indiana Food Council (IN), Food Finance Institute at the University of Wisconsin System (WI), and the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture and Food Systems – who seek to take a transformational, rather than transactional, approach.
