BIO: Ziyue Tian is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics (AFRE) at Michigan State University. Her research focuses on environmental and resource economics, with interests in wildlife disease management, agricultural nonpoint source pollution, ecological–economic systems under uncertainty, and energy policies in China.
Ziyue’s job market paper focuses on Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) management in Greater Yellowstone Area elk, where she develops a novel high-dimensional perturbation method to find the optimal control path. Other working papers advance risk-management frameworks for agricultural runoff, multiple disease dynamics, and explore clean energy adoption in China. Her recent work has been published in Energy Economics and presented at the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association (AAEA) meetings and the Heartland Environmental and Resource Economics Workshop.
