Michael Hall is a Ph.D. student from Savannah, Georgia. He is interested in labor economics, survey design, and food production. The son of a baker and middle of five children, Michael’s mother taught him early on the importance of food to feed the body and nourish the soul. He aims to recognize this and other nuances in his research. Prior to MSU, Michael worked as a research assistant, reading and writing on subjects including land grabbing, U.S. involvement in Latin American politics, and poverty cycles. In 2021, Michael worked as a Research Consultant for The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) where he investigated skills-related policies and micro, small, and medium enterprises development in Mexico along gender lines. Currently, Michael volunteers at the Greater Lansing Food Bank. In his spare time, Michael likes to bake bread, ride his bicycle, and be outside.
