Background:
Kristina received her B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As an undergraduate, she investigated life history correlates of alternative reproductive tactics in male Blue Ridge Two-lined Salamanders (Eurycea cf. wilderae) with Dr. Todd Pierson. She also researched microplastic dynamics in the Cullasaja watershed, helped coordinate a community science effort to quantify bird-window collisions on college campuses, and led bat activity analysis on stream and wetland mitigation sites in rural North Carolina. After graduating in 2023, Kristina has worked across the Southeastern U.S. as a research technician, surveying for herpetofauna, small mammals, and other wildlife. As a graduate student, she intends to study wetlands and wetland associated wildlife. In her free time, Kristina enjoys reading, running, and getting outside.
