Kendra Shannon
Kendra D. Shannon, MPH is the MSU Extension Southwest Michigan Supervisor and Staff Development Educator. As a public health practitioner, she works with her staff and lends her expertise to foster a culture of success while enhancing nutrition and physical activity programs within the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) and the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP).
Kendra is passionate about community, education, and health equity. As an intern with MSU Extension, she helped developed a training on a racial equity tool to enhance SNAP-Ed community partnerships. She also brings a background in public health communications, previously serving as the Marketing and Communications Chair of the Student Advisory Board in the MSU MPH program. Prior to joining MSU Extension, Kendra held positions in health administration and education, including roles at Trinity Health and Envision Healthcare, and Michigan State University.
Kendra holds a Master of Public Health degree from Michigan State University and is the chapter co-lead of the MSU Epsilon Pi chapter of Delta Omega honorary society in Public Health. Her areas of professional interest include health, racial equity, public health communications, and community health education.
