Biography:

Guoan Xiao is a PhD student at the Center for Systems Integration and Sustainability (CSIS), advised by Dr. Jianguo “Jack” Liu. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Geography from Sun Yat-sen University and his Master’s degree from the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Guoan’s research focuses on sustainable agri-food systems, investigating the telecoupling effects of food loss and waste on land-use change, biodiversity, and socio-environmental interactions. Outside academia, he enjoys cooking, anime, and sketching.
