Lautaro Garcia
Lautaro recently earned his MS in Animal Science at Michigan State University and is now pursuing a PhD under the guidance of Dr. Jason Rowntree. After earning his bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine, his work on beef and dairy farms in Argentina, New Zealand, and Texas inspired him to focus on sustainable grazing management in graduate school. His research focuses on the effects of grazing management on soil carbon sequestration and the overall greenhouse gas footprint of beef cattle. He is passionate about understanding the complex relationships between soil, plants, ruminants, and the atmosphere to help farmers build resilient, profitable, and sustainable agricultural systems.
