Background:
I received my BSc in Marine, Freshwater, and Estuarine Biology from the University in New Hampshire where I worked in an aquaculture lab rearing lumpfish, and characterized brook trout diets in the White Mountains. I moved to the Upper Peninsula and received my MSc in Biology from Northern Michigan University where I researched the impacts of asynchronous hatching on the early growth and development of larval burbot from adfluvial spawning aggregates. I worked as a technician with the US Geological Survey for three years and switched my focus to fish movement ecology, spawning phenology, but kept my passion for burbot. I am a PhD student working with Scott Colborne and I am currently studying burbot population dynamics and genetics in northern Lake Michigan.
