Great Lakes Fisheries Management and Policy: A Binational Perspective focuses on the USA-Canada shared governance of the Laurentian Great Lakes fisheries resources and related ecological, societal, economic, management, and policy issues. The objective of this book is to present a synthesis of current knowledge about the status Great Lakes fisheries and their ecosystems, emphasizing the threats that they have faced and the opportunities they provide for basin citizens and industries. The book is divided into four sections: the Great Lakes Region; Great Lakes Fisheries; Case Studies of Key Fisheries; and Outlook for the Future.This book reveals the multifaceted discussions of complex, interjurisdictional, multi-use fisheries resources with a focus on sustainability and how to achieve it.
