Describe the study abroad program you participated in:
In the summer of 2023, I attended the Global Food Systems and Health (GFSH) program with FSHN. Through this program, we explored Spain and Italy while learning about the Mediterranean diet. With housing in the heart of both cities, we could immerse ourselves in the local culture inside and outside the classroom.

Why did you choose to participate in this program?
I chose to participate in the HNF 475 course as it intertwined lectures with practical skills such as food tastings, cooking classes, and market tours.

What did you enjoy most about this experience?
The aspect I loved most was understanding nutrition in the context of different cultures. Immersing ourselves in the local food scenes opened my eyes to how food is intertwined with society. The program also allowed me to meet other FSHN department students, bringing us closer together.

Would you recommend this program to others and why?
I genuinely recommend this program to anyone who loves exploring new places and is curious about how food brings us all together.
