MSU Undergraduate Research and Internship Opportunity: Kellogg Biological Station Summer Programs

MSU's Kellogg Biological Station (KBS) Summer Undergraduate Programs provide students an opportunity to participate in research or professional internships in collaboration with our field station's outstanding group of resident staff and faculty. Participants will live at KBS and gain a wide variety of field, lab, and other work experience, new friendships, and professional references at a world-renowned biological station on beautiful Gull Lake, Michigan. The program will run from May 18- July 26th, 2025.

Students receive a $3500 stipend as well as free room & board. All positions are part-time (20-30 hrs/wk) and students take at least one MSU summer course. We offer generous scholarships to offset the cost of your tuition.

Summer 2025 opportunities include:

Undergraduate Research Apprenticeships: URA positions are geared for undergraduate and community college transfer students with little to no previous research experience. The URA position includes stipend, lodging, and grocery stipend for the 10-week summer experience. Summer 2025 opportunities include investigating plant-pollinator interactions, exploring biofuel crops performance, impacts of warming on dragonflies, and more!

KBS Internships: The KBS Internship Program provides professional experiences for students in a wide range of disciplines across KBS. For summer 2025, our internship positions include Avian Care, Bird Sanctuary Visitor Experience, Forestry, External Communications, and Kellogg Manor House Digital Storytelling.
