Pay Rate: $16/hour

About the Position:

Are you passionate about plants and eager to gain hands-on experience in horticulture? The City of Frankenmuth is seeking an enthusiastic Horticulture Intern to join our team! This is a fantastic opportunity to work directly with an experienced horticulturist, learning the ins and outs of maintaining and enhancing our city’s beautiful green spaces.

What You’ll Do:

· Participate in planting projects, including flowers, shrubs, trees, and seasonal displays.

· Learn and apply proper techniques for watering, pruning, fertilizing, and mulching.

· Help identify and address plant health issues, such as pests, diseases, and environmental stress.

· Maintain and improve public spaces, such as parks, medians, and civic building landscapes.

· Support the maintenance of irrigation systems, including repairs and monitoring.

· Collaborate with city staff and community groups on beautification projects and public events

What We’re Looking For:

· A genuine interest in horticulture, botany, or a related field.

· Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

· Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.

· A positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

Eligibility:

· Must be at least 18 years old.

· Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a horticulture or related program (preferred but not required).
