PLP894 Seminar Series Fall 2025 Featuring Dr Randy Beaudry

October 27, 2025 1:30PM - 2:30PM

PSSB A 271 Conference Room

Dr. Randolph Beaudry, Professor, MSU Department of Horticulture (MSc, PhD, University of Georgia).  His appointment is 25% MSU Extension and 75% AgBioResearch.  He has been at MSU since 1989. His research program includes both regional and international projects and focuses on the physiology of plant responses to storage environments, the biochemistry of aroma compounds, and technological innovations that improve handling and storage of fruits and vegetables. His recent project on the surface disorders of apple is attempting to solve the sometimes severe problems of spray injury and fungal decay of superficial tissues that often, but not always, associates itself with lenticels. He will discuss the breadth of known surface disorders in apple and share some preliminary data implicating field sprays in lenticular damage and fungal organisms associated with decay lesions on the skin surface.
