Background
Dr. Teppen's areas of expertise include soil chemistry, soil mineralogy, adsorption, clay minerals, and molecular simulation. His research interests lie in surface structures of environmentally relevant colloidal materials; adsorption mechanisms for gaseous and solution species interacting with solid phases in soils and sediments and the implications for geochemical transport and fate; and anthropogenic modification of natural surfaces to optimize adsorbents for a given purpose.
