3rd Annual Student & Alumni Sketch Crawl

The Landscape Architecture program in the School of Planning, Design and Construction (SPDC) at MSU invites you to join the 3rd Annual Student & Alumni Sketch Crawl. Connect with students and alumni on an autumn afternoon sketching foray across campus to kick off the Landscape Architecture Fall Speaker Series at Michigan State University, October 2, 2025.
Lunch will be provided at 12:00pm in Room 306 of the Human Ecology Building. From 1:00-1:30pm in Room 306 there will be brief introductions and an overview of the sketch crawl. The sketch crawl will begin immediately after lunch, introductions and overview, at 1:30pm and run until 4:00pm.
Along with the ASLA Club, participants will prepare special, commemorative accordion sketchbooks that will be displayed at the evening event for all the speaker attendees to appreciate. A suggested donation of $10-$20 for our alumni and friends per sketchbook is requested to benefit the student ASLA Club. Sketchbooks will be returned to sketchers at the end of the evening. Bring along your favorite drawing implements; pens, pencils, watercolors, colored pencils, crayolas, etc., (and also your sketchbook as backup). Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and shoes for the weather, which will hopefully be a glorious Michigan fall day!
After the sketch crawl moves through the old part of campus, the tour will return to the Human Ecology Building. Don’t forget that the LA Alumni and Advisory Board (LAAAB) and LA program will host the 2025 Fall Distinguished Speaker Series from 6:00-8:00pm at the MSU Union Ballroom on the same date!
