Course Description
HRT 311/LA 311 will introduce students to landscape Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) to explore Landscape design techniques; spatial organization; plant selection; plant/site interaction; relationships between design, construction, and maintenance in project development; preparation of planting; and maintenance specifications.
Course objectives
- Use Vectorworks software to create landscape designs, presentations, and associated materials and information.
- Integrate basic design principles into landscape development.
- Develop a working knowledge of plants in relation to design intent, site adaptation, and maintenance.
- Prepare landscape plans, 3D models, construction, and maintenance specifications
- Examine the interrelationship among property owners, the design team, nurseries, and contractors (construction and maintenance).
